I'm gonna add the Palace Midas of TRAE onto my list! Hrrr, those gorillas are huuuge! They run towards you very fast, with their eyes glowing.. O_O If I don't think about the gorillas, I loved that level!

I was shocked how big the gorillas were in TRAE too! They were vicious and threw stones at Lara! Somehow I got past them. It's quite easy playing through it now

I think all of the earlier games were just plain scary. I think it was TR3 that really had me shaking. Those darned 6-armed statues just standing there in Temple Ruins had me really creeped out. I almost had a heart attack when the first one came to life. They still give me the willies.
The poisoned dart-blowing natives in Coastal Village, poison-breathed lizards in Madabu Gorge, huge glowing wasps in Lost City of Tinnos, mutants in RX-Tech Mines, and finally the huge spider-boss in the Meteorite Cavern.
The biggest startling moment I've ever had is in Coastal Village. Since I wasn't using a walkthrough the first time through, I decided to head inward through a valley. I killed a native or two on the way and ended up at the back where the cliffs and waterfall are. I turned around to scope the trees and ledges to find this big scary head-hunter right up against me! I never saw him coming, he must have silently snuck up behind me. Well I jumped off the couch, controller flying in the air, while everyone around me screamed. We sure laughed when we all calmed down.

I'm still working my way through TR3 and I jump now and then at different things. It's great! I miss that in the newer games for sure. Nothing like playing in the dark, speakers blasting........

Well, it's hard to say which of the games was actually scary. However, I will like to say that the part about me running into the trains back in Tomb Raider: The Lost Artifact scared the crap out of me. Yes sir, when I was traveling down the train area, the gates opened. Something didn't seem right. I went down and *BOOM*, the train came out and almost ran me over. When I went to go for one of the secret areas to get the Rocket Launcher, the same train came out again. This time, it ran me over. That was freaky.

Eh .... hehehe, this is pretty embarassing, but ...
I remember the time when I was playing the demo version of Tomb Raider 2 where I got to play in the Great Wall of China. While I was able to get past the dart trap, the first trap of the game towards the end, the door behind me closed and I ran into the rolling boulders. One of the first times I played that level was not pretty - When I got ran over by the second boulder, everything got all glitchy after I got flattened.
The second time that I decided to try again, I somehow managed to get in between the rocks and over getting flattened all together. That's right, I managed to get in between the rolling boulders and survive the whole ordeal. Other than that, when I saw boulders coming at me, I ran for my life and went down into an area where I was going to get crushed by the spiked trapped room. So there, getting flattened by the boulders is what scared the heck out of me.

Here's more ...
The first time I was playing Tomb Raider Gold where I was in the ancient city at level 2, I was checking out the area after I shot down the wolves at the entrance to the village. When I looked around, *BOOM*, there was a big bear that came after me. It really startled me big time!
And there was the time I ran into the T-Rex. I probably mentioned this, but when I first ran into it, I tried to take it down with my signature pistols. He was a big pain in the butt. I even gotten chewed to death and spit out like yesterday's garbage. Yup, running into the T-Rex was scary big time.

The scarriest level for me was Old Mill. Those Ireland levels are more like Resident Evil or Silent Hill, than TR. Although that level doesn't have many enemies, it's still very creepy.
