Nope, I never did try to use a pirated code where it has allowed me to make Lara appear nude everytime you play. But, the point is ...

Why are you people trying to further amuse yourself by making Lara appear nude after you installed the nude code? What kind of a sicko would want to make her appear nude? You can go to jail for tempering with the graphics, just for amusement. I say you should STOP trying to change something about Lara and stick with what she has.

Tell me, do you hate the 'Nude Raider' code or what?

Yup, it was juvenile to find what the people were doing to make Lara appear nude in the game. You have to be a big nerd if you desperate to see her 'nude' in the game. Oh, here's what I found on Answers.com:

QUOTE
A development in Lara's history is the so-called Nude Raider patch. A patch was created externally from Core and Eidos and was never housed on the Eidos or Core websites. This patch, when added to an existing Tomb Raider game, caused Lara to appear naked. Contrary to rumor, there is no method of creating a nude Lara in any console version of the game. In April 2004, it is falsely alleged that an insider from Eidos reported to a Tomb Raider electronic mailing list that Eidos had begun suing gamers using the Nude Raider patches. Eidos sent cease and desist letters to the owners of nuderaider.com who were hosting the Nude Raider patch, enforcing their intellectual property of Tomb Raider. Sites depicting nude images of Lara Croft have been sent cease and desist notices and shut down, and Eidos Interactive was awarded the rights to the domain name nuderaider.com.

So there. I guess it is safe to say that it is okay that hardly anyone without a life uses the 'Nude Raider' code.

I think this basically stupid. Who would want to see her nude playing the game? I think it's ridiculous and I'm gald Eidos has stopped people or sickos from using it.

glad to see no ones being too judgmental about this, bandying terms like sicko, nerd, without a life..... etc. mad.gif
tbh, it may have been slightly amusing for a whole 20 seconds or something, but i wasn't going to download something to make a character who doesn't look real clothed!! into a non real looking nude character. its not worth the bandwidth ffs.

OP said you can go to jail for changing gfx, true, but i would have thrown out 1/2 my games like morrowind, oblivion, dawn of war, supreme commander, stalker, neverwinter nights, GTA(yes, i did try the "hot coffee" mod, i was amused for 10 seconds, then i went back to stealing cars and killing prosti......innocent people again wink.gif of course, this is American morality where *removed* is wrong and will lead to the downfall of society, blowing peoples heads off and robbing their still twitching corpse...........perfectly acceptable, strangely, i never had the desire to do either of these things in real life, after i played them, but maybe i'm not too easily led rolleyes.gif ), plus many others if mods to change gfx were outright banned. and if that was the case it would be a sad day for gaming indeed.

i understand that the companies have to make a game suitable for release, but were still in an era where games are considered "just for kids" still. lots of parents use them as a babysitting device without actually looking to see if a game is suitable or not. as an adult, i understand this, but i won't ever stop private mods from being allowed due to some people being a bit offended about it.

Indeed. Those people were stupid enough to waste their time trying to make Lara appear naked in the game. Sickos like them need to be put away for life. Eidos had every right to stop those people from wrecking the game with the 'Nude Raider' patch. These kind of people who waste their time just for the entertainment of seeing Lara 'nude' in order to make the game more fun. So there, I grow tired of this.

what sort of words do you all use to describe the real sicko's out there? like the pedophiles/ rapists/ murderers etc etc? because if you really think that seeing a computer generated character in the nude is the height of sickness, then your personal values are the wrong way round. dry.gif

Neither, I perfer to describe them as just idiots, nerds, and sickos. There is no doubt that the people who made the stupid patch should be punished for their actions, nothing more. Sure, they may have learned from their mistakes they have done, but that doesn't insure that they will stop doing it altogether.

No, seeing a character like Lara Croft 'appear in the nude' doesn't make people want to start 'clawing at her' to 'show up naked' on the computer again.

I don't see the point of this conversation. Nude Raider is just a patch, and it's no longer popular (from what I've seen, anyway). I think that at one point the creators of "Nude Raider" got into some legal trouble, but still, you can't really stop someone from hacking in and altering the character models, if they really wanted to? blink.gif

I am not even going to argue with what you said to me. So please, don't even try to create an argument in the topic. >_<

And to also reply to your post - I have no intention of going into political office. That would be too much work and stress on my condition ridden body. Plus, I much rather work for something else that is important than trying to be, let's just say, a senator.

Indeed, Nude Raider is only a patch made by no-life nerds who took it upon themselves to violate the agreements with Edios Interactive and/or Core Design just to make retarded patch and use it to try to entertain most members who are 'sick' of her only wearing her clothes designed for adventure. It's good the later designers gave Lara a better selection of clothes and outfits to wear.

I hate to be on his side, but he also does have a point. What the desginers did to make that patch was wrong enough.

not trying to argue!! you said, and i quote :-

QUOTE
There is no doubt that the people who made the stupid patch should be punished for their actions, nothing more.

exactly what kind of punishment do you think would fit the heinous crime of changing some pixels in a computer game hanging? lethal injection? electric chair? laugh.gif laugh.gif

so what if someone wants to spend their time making "retarded"(your words) mods for computer games how is your life affected by them, you don't have to install it, its your choice, nobody will make you do it!!!! the fact you're disgusted by some pixels in a computer game disgusts me!!!(you do know lara isn't a real woman don't you?) how can you be so shallow?

nakedness is not a crime!! (killing endangered species is!! but that seems ok to you? bearing in mind its a tomb raider game and all!) were all born naked!! so whats the big deal about it? .................... what exactly is going to happen to the world due to her nakedness? will it end, horribly, and in fire?............... i very much doubt it!!!

QUOTE
I have no intention of going into political office. That would be too much work and stress on my condition ridden body. Plus, I much rather work for something else that is important than trying to be, let's just say, a senator.

so, showing your disgust about a non-real nude woman on this forum is more important than trying to ACTUALLY make peoples lives better? unsure.gif

patch made by no-life nerds

ironic to say the least!! bearing in mind how many new posts you've authored in the last 1 1/2 weeks!! "pot calling the kettle black" seems like an apt cliche here.

i'm only reading and responding to what you have written, if you don't mean what you're actually saying then i apologize, but if you do mean it then you need to go out and gain some worldly experience.
