I’ve got to admit that looks really cool; but I was expecting more. The whole underground caverns that look to much alike is getting old. I know the game is called underworld; but Thailand, Mediterranean Sea and Mexico were stunning levels I was hoping for another open world setting: Desert, jungle or snow field for example.
The new melee combat is an interesting twist and it does look really good, I just wonder if it will play as well
It does look good playing the doppelganger is really cool, even from the start of Underworld I was hoping she would be an unlockable character.
However I’m probably going to give this one a miss, at least for the first while- Resident Evil 5 is out this Friday and that will be much better.
Any thoughts?

Paul

I'm too getting Resident Evil 5, but I can't miss out on Lara's Shadow because I actually found BTA good, (probably better than Underworld itself).

Although I agree, the dark cavern setting with blue slime and thralls is getting VERY dull now. I wish we had more levels like Thailand, that was my favourite level just being outside exploring ruins rather than being in somewhere dark and wet all the time.

If I did have an Xbox, i'd probly only buy the levels if it was more like thailand as well, I think thailand was breathtaking and so emersive, the underworld levels got on my nerves (esp the blue slime). And OOO RE5, deffo getting that friday smile.gif

Is that an ancient tibetan ritual dagger in your pocket?.. Maybe I'm just pleased to see you...

I'm playing Lara's Shadow now, it's really cool to see what happens to her after the final showdown in Underworld. It's quite similar to Prince of Persia and I don't think there is much gun combat, it's different to the gameplay in Underworld. Really good so far though.

I finished Lara's Shadow yesterday and I have to say I loved it! It makes the first pack of DLC look ridiculous, BTA was simply part of the Croft Manor level cut off from the main game. But Lara's Shadow was so much better, yes the whole Thralls and blue acid theme is a little boring now but the new gameplay mechanics of the Doppelganger were great and very similar to the Prince of Persia style of gameplay. Lara's Shadow was actually very long and took me around 5 hours to complete, (although one reason for it being long is because after you went around a huge room to do something your next objective is to go back there and do everything in reverse).

I'd give it an 8/10 overall, suggestions would be the lack of variation in enemies, (with there being Thralls and Thralls ONLY), but also the cutscenes. They were quite weak, but interesting. smile.gif

I played the BTA level on a friend's XBox and have to say I enjoyed it - but it was really part of the main game with a few tweaks to make it different enough to become DLC as I'd suspected all along mad.gif

The Lara's Shadow episode was extremely good (I didn't play it but watched it played all the way through) - I agree with Mikeyy - if it had had more variation of enemies and locations (you effectively play the same level twice) it would be near perfect smile.gif
There's no difference between stupid and charming with you, is there?

If it makes you feel any better, I have a friend named Laura, and I accidentally called her Lara a few times. Lol
