Hi everyone :) This is the 1st forum site I've joined, which is kind of ironic as Tomb Raider was one of the 1st games I played, back on the good 'ol PS1. Now I play Tomb Raider on PC and have enjoyed the series like I have throughout my life. I really hope more Tomb Raider fans can join this site, as Tomb Raider (in my opinion) is the best 3D Action Adventure series EVER! Hopefully I can keep playing Tomb Raider as well as reading my Manga (which I enjoy equally as much as Tomb Raider) with Naruto being the first manga collection I bought (still growing), then Death Note (favourite manga, so far), Bakuman (very interesting manga) and Fullmetal Alchemist (funny, but dramatic) only read volume 1 of that

Well... I'm not really new. I mean, I was signed up to this forum about... 5 years and 2 months ago approximately, which means I was a mere 11 year old child.
Since then, I slowly forgot about this forum and became more social with friends.

Now, I am 16, and was just searching for information regarding this years 'Tomb Raider' title.
I just so happened to stumble on this forum and spent nearly an hour trying to remember my username. I couldn't, so I found it by going through all the pages of the one topic I remember 'This or That?'. THEN, I had to try a variety of passwords, et voilá!

One thing I can say is that reading through my old posts is rather embarrassing...
Not to mention this signature -_- I may change it in the near future. Here's hoping for more activity on here from me! :)

Just looking over at this, wow! It's been a while since I've last logged on, but now (to be extra safe) I've saved this AWESOME forum into my bookmarks, so I won't forget where it is :) By the way, I would like to mention that the 64 in my forum name represents the 64 in the song 'When I'm Sixty Four' as I am a huge Beatles fan (as well as Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, etc). But I also love the classic, mesmerising orchestral scores from Tomb Raiders 1-3, that is what makes a game go from being AMAZING to being EPIC. I wish more game companies took examples from Tomb Raider to help them get some new original gaming ideas for the gaming industry.

Ahh, here are some old posts from me on the Tomb Raider newsgroups. Also, here is one from Theresa who Katie should remember.

I doubt they will let a cash cow like Tomb Raider just disappear.

Who is the richest of them all?
Cannes: ECCSELL award winners for which games made the most money in 1998.
Tomb Raider (26 million Euro+) and Tomb Raider II (39 million Euro+) were 2
out of 25 games receiving the Gold award.

Tomb Raider III (68 million Euro+) was 1 out of the 2 games receiving the
Platinum awards. One Euro is about $1.13. So even if the reviewers and
editors of the game magazines and e-zines are underwhelmed by Tomb Raider
III, the dollars show that Tomb Raider is still on top

I guess I'm going to have to replace this out of date Pentium 233 soon if I
want to continue playing games. It seems computer technology is ready for
the Smithsonian Institute about five to six months after coming out.

I see posts in other newsgroups about people wanting to upgrade from a fast
P2 to a P3, but I can't see why for the average user. I guess some people
have to get the fastest as soon as it comes out. They probably had the P2
300, but as soon as the P2 333 arrived, they had to get that. When the 400
came out, bye bye 333 and hello 400. When 450 came along, bye bye 400 and
so on.

It seems that as faster chips are released more frequently, some people will
have to upgrade every month to keep up. I believe more advanced chips
should keep coming, but I can't see upgrading for every incremental upgrade.

Hello,
I've gotten both keys, released the big gun and killed the endless creatures
released after that, gone through the useless monkey swing area, and I've
been to the other side of the plane with the dead man, rex, and those
little green ones running around where I pulled two switches. What am I
supposed to do now? I'm tired of wandering around for hours backtracking
everywhere I've been.

Thanks,
Tony

You can also do it with the normal arrows. When you slide down the ramp
into the room with the targets, you can turn around and wait for the ramp to
drop and hang on to the ledge. Now drop down, line up the targets with the
crossbow/lasersight combo, and shoot away. (This is not the fastest way to
get through here, but it works.)

Just one ending: bad.

I don't think Lara is dead. If she is, Eidos can't milk the series any
more.

I deleted the links in the post below since they no longer work. However, the last link still works, so I left it in.

Perhaps in TR5. But Core's gonna have to fix the current shadow problems (snipped link) water - "climbing out" for more info) before attempting to make real-time angled shadows.

It is according to a TR4 screenshot deleted

I'm running Win2000 and have no problems running TRLR except for the FMVs.
I am using the Nvidia 5.13 drivers on a TNT2 card. TRLR will play at 16 or
32 bit and at any resolution my monitor supports and at full screen as long
as I turn the FMVs off in setup. I have to choose window mode to view the
FMVs, but I also have to set my desktop resolution to the same as playing
TRLR when doing this. For example, to play at 1280 x 1024, I have to set my
desktop to 1280 x 1024 and then back to what I had it when finished playing.

Also, download the patch if you do not already have it before installing the
game or you will get an error.
Get it here:
ftp://ftp.eidosinter...atches/tombt...

.exe

If you have trouble with the site, I can email the patch to you.

Hey, Tony (or anyone who can answer), please let me know WHERE in the
Opera House level you can pick them up so I can add this to my
walk-through. I thought I'd gotten all the pickup points, but now I see
not. TIA.

Hello,

I recently purchased a Diamond Monster 3d II video card and now I can't view
the videos between the various levels in Tomb Raider 2. The Matrox card
plays them fine, but the game looks better with the Diamond. When a video
begins, the screen just blacks out and I have to hit the escape key to
bypass them. Does anyone know of a possible fix?

Thanks,
Tony D

Hello,

I have the PC version of Tomb 3 and it looks like it could be a good game,
but I can't get past level 2. I can get to the section with the falling
objects in the water where I have to do a back flip off of the ladder and do
the diagonal jumps. However, when I try to get back out of this section, I
swim back to the opening gate and lara gets stuck and swims in place. HOW
do you get past this spot???? This is getting very aggravating. I guess
I'll have to uninstall the game if this is as far as I'm going to get.

lol... good one, Tony... ...another example of the married people keeping us single people down!

Okay, this was around my first adventure with a Tomb Raider game (after trying the demo and then buying the game).

Hello,

I'm having major problems trying to get the key behind the picture
high up on the wall in Bartolina's (spelling?) place. WHERE do you
jump from to get in there? I've tried every place I can think of and
can't make it.

Thanks,
Tony Davis

I have more, but that is plenty to remember.
