This... may have changed. The topic title now states "Release Date: July 27, 2010... NOT!!" and the letters FALSE litter the upper part of the first post.
Edit: Reading further into the thread, it seems that specific release date was false. It's still "summer", but apparently has no official release date?

Correct, it's false. Still no official date released yet but I'm betting on an August release.
You know when game stores post release dates but then change them a billion times? I think this is what happened - they were guessing, but it's definitely not it.

Haha, yes. I am quite familiar with that.
It happened all the time with Alan Wake actually. I've been working there on the official forums as a Moderator for four years now, so it's kind of always been my job to know about these things (release dates and such). It's amazing how many times a gaming site would guess on a release date, people seeing it and then run to us all excited thinking that this might actually be the official release date. Imagine their sad faces when we had to explain to them every single time that it wasn't. Hell, I even got sad a few times myself...
I think a lot of those sites have a set up that requires them to type in a release date for their games. Of course, many of them have the option to type in "TBA", but it could seem like many of those systems require and actual date. And that is why they guess upon a release date. Sure adds to confusion.
I would guess upon a late July / August release too for GOL.
