That's amazing! I experienced a new emotion, when I watched the trailer. I liked the new image. Lara - helpless. And it makes you care about her. I'm really looking forward to E3 to see gameplay.!!
P.S. What is mean "fall 2012"?

Lara's voice sounds so familiar, but I can't place it. Excellent trailer. Autumn 2012? God, that's only a couple of months before the end of the world. I might not even finish the game in that time! :)

OMG!
Epic winning!!

Can't believe it won't come out till Autumn 2012! Especially after all that teasing about it coming out this year. However, it explains why Crystal Dynamics were so hush about it all - They hadn't done much yet!

Still the longer the wait, the more hopeful we can be of a much more expansive game - that will hopefully live up to expectations.

The voice for Lara also sounds great. Young, fresh and naive which fits the situation. Very promising and STUNNING CGI
...
Very happy with that :D

Niiice! B) Thanks for posting  But I'm not sure I like the voice. Probably makes me sound a bit mean but it sounds as if this actress is trying too hard with the posh accent.

Yeah. She sounds a bit too Keira Knightley-y. :)

That's who she reminds me of too. I wonder if it is her? I haven't been able to find out anything about the new voice actress so...

With respect to the trailer, I turned out wonderful. The smoothness of the movements, music, Lara Croft, everything. It was perfect

Greetings.

Excellent trailer!
I wonder if that's any indication of what the in game graphics will look like?
Her voice is just right. I'm a Brit and she doesn't sound too posh at all. Sort of middle England, but with some modern inflections.
I think they've done the right thing taking the game in this direction. A completely fresh approach is what was needed imho.

Marc1 one is right. If anything, this Lara's voice is possibly the least posh it's been.

The trailer is awesome, I just like it. Now, I expect so much from thise game, there is something that I like, and something I don't. This is a revolution of Lara Croft, and I hope a good one. I don't like because this is all diferent, like a new world, there isn't our old Lara with guns, climbing and jumping in the trailer, figtinh dinosaurus and other villains, this is a new Lara. Like she said "I knew what I've had to become". That's it because I don't like it, I hope the next parts will return our old Lara because I can't change this for the other one, no way. Anyway, if the revolution will be good, then I'll like it, and I think this is gonna be good, the only thing I don't like is that this Lara isn't that we knew earlier. :( I feel a little sad.

It does show a different Lara for sure. She starts out like a bratty teenager, locked away in her room with her iPod or whatever, in her own little world. The Lara of previous games would have spent her time on board a ship strutting around inspecting everything to make sure everything was working alright. And telling all the crew how to do their jobs. Lara from the early games would have seen the wreck coming.

I guess this is what they are talking about when they say that we will see Lara "evolve" as a person during the game. Going from a naive kid to a worldly adventurer.

The trailer was just an intro cinematic though. It didn't show any of the in-game mechanics - which is what a game is about after all. So they haven't shown us anything of the actual game yet, just the new look. No obvious white ledges to grab onto, so that's a start...

Obviously Marc1 and Joe_Von_Croy are really, really posh to start with... heh heh. :)

Anyhoo, did anybody see this week's Doctor Who? The girl who played the soldier doing the needlecraft (Christina Chong) sounded a lot like Lara in the new trailer. Bit of a stretch, maybe. :)

Another thing i love about this new tomb raider is that they are giving lara a look that shows her character more respect than any other game if you know what im talkin about lol

I've been thinking about the posh accent thing and after watching the trailer (a few  ) more times I think it's not so much posh as kind of, not forced exactly, but slow and precise; perhaps this means the voice actress isn't English herself? Just a thought. Or perhaps I'm just being mean/picky

 Yeah, I'm English and I don't talk like that either. I just wondered if the actress isn't English because sometimes they overdo the accent when they're trying too hard

Of course, there's always the possibility that they won't use this actress in the finished game?

I love when you English guys pick apart the accent to death :P To my ears it sounds British (to me, British is British...I'll never understand this posh/not posh business :P) but some of her pronunciations are a bit annoying to me. "Do" in particular sounds overly pronounced somehow...not sure how to describe it.

FTR this voice actress is Lara in the game. Karl confirmed it and it wouldn't make sense to use one voice in the trailer and swap for the game...this is it!

Yeah, we like to nit pick when it comes to accent  I agree with "Do", the other words that sound a bit weird to me are "Found" and "Going". I suppose it wouldn't really make sense to have one actress for the trailer and a different one for the game, I think I was wishful thinking as this one grates a bit with me
But who knows, she might be good ingame

She sounds British to me! She sounds like she has come from the middle area of England (I have no idea where that is, being Australian  ) It did sound posh to me when I first watched but as I watched the trailer repedetly, I actually started thinking her voice didn't sound posh at all. I definatley thought it was Kiera Knightley voicing her at first. I would totally freak if it was. Maybe that's the reason why Crystal Dynamics is keeping it hushed  Just a theory
